Steven Michael Cronk

CRONK, Steven Michael, age 30 years, passed away gently and comfortably Friday, March 6, 2020 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on March 24, 1989 in Frankfurt, Germany to William Cronk and Kathreyn Agate.

On August 31, 2013 he married the former Kimberly Santino and she survives him. Steve was a successful business owner, a loving husband, brother, son and the best friend you could ever have by your side. Steve loved to barbecue. He found great joy in cooking a fantastic meal for his family and friends. He also enjoyed working out and competing in mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jitsu. Steve's creativity, quick wit, humor, and his positive attitude are just a few of the qualities that his friends and family admired.

On October 1, 2013, Steve and friends, Dustin and Drew, took a big risk and opened their own advertising agency called Aberro Creative in Midland. According to Steve, they committed “to an exciting, liberating and romantic endeavor.” They risked the low to no pay of a startup for a couple months, potential loss of substantial amounts of money, “weird entrepreneurial stress” that could give night sweats and plunge you into temporary fits of sheer hopeless despair. Plus, they had to quit the cool jobs they held. It all paid off. They won “Best of Show” Regional American Advertising Award on February 20, 2015, and since have completed multiple award-winning projects for many prominent businesses in the Great Lakes Bay Region.Prior to becoming a founding partner at Aberro Creative Agency in Midland, Steve worked as a Digital and Social Media Strategist for Berman & Company in Washington D.C. While working in Washington D.C., Steve also founded a small business, Caveman Bob's Paleo Brands. While attending college at Northwood University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree, Steve also completed a Summer internship in Las Vegas for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Steve is survived by his wife, Kimberly; dogs, Franklin and Milo; parents, William (Tonilyn) Cronk and Kathreyn Agate; brother, Jeffrey Cronk; step-siblings, Nichole Ahrent and Mark (Daylene) Ahrent; grandmother, Paula Agate; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents, Annabelle and Peter Cronk, John Agate; and his aunt, Sue Guymer.

A funeral service will take place Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, March 13 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from noon until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to Game on Cancer, Henry Ford Health System.
