Donald Carl Lenhart

LENHART, Donald Carl, age 59, of St. Charles, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 29, 2019. Don married MaryHelen Szepanski on September 19, 1987 and they raised 3 wonderful young men together. Don was the owner and operator of Lenhart Builders. He always had a project going whether it be restoring trucks, boats, motorcycles or a bulldozer, just because. Don enjoyed fishing the Gulf of Mexico during many Easter trips to Gulf Shores, as well as St. Helen’s northern lakes. He had a passion for fast cars and motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson’s, and loved to ride them as much as he liked to build and modify them. His bikes always had a great sound.

Don is survived by his children, Austyn (Chelsey) Lenhart of New Lothrop, Joe Lenhart of St. Charles, and Sam Lenhart of Clovis, NM USAF; his mother, Alfrida Lenhart of Burt; sister, Peggy (Scott) Koby of Bay City; Brothers, Rodney Lenhart of Burt, Ralph (Janna) Lenhart of Burt and Matt (Mary) Lenhart of Burt and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Lenhart, Sr.; and a sister, Lynn Budzinski.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Francis and Clare Parish, 12157 Church St., Birch Run. Fr. Tom McNamara will preside. A committal will take place at Albee Township, Pine Grove Cemetery following the luncheon. The family will greet friends at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home on Monday, April 1 from 1:00-8:00 p.m. and again at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Charles Athletic Association.

The family would like to thank Union Court’s staff and residents for the great care they gave Don, the warm welcome he received and many friendships that were made.
