ALBOSTA, Dorothy Mary, beloved passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the age of 91. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 14, 1927 to the late Stanley and Clara (Sobecki) Ankoviak. She married the late Donald Albosta on February 10, 1951. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Hospital Auxilary, League of Catholic Women, Citizens Advisory Committee to the Friend of the Court and OLLI and was on the board of directors for the East Side Soup Kitchen.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Christine White of Bancroft; son, Paul (Renee) Albosta of Burt; granddaughters, Chelsey (Aystin) Lenhart and Carly Albosta (Justin Tomasek); brother, John Ankoviak; sister-in-law, Dee Ankoviak and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Albosta; brothers, William (Julia) Ankoviak, Robert (Romaine) Ankoviak and David Ankoviak and son-in-law, Gary White.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church of Albee. Fr. John Cotter will preside with a committal following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albee. Visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to East Side Soup Kitchen or Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church.
