Dorothy Ann Honaman



HONAMAN, Dorothy Ann, age 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away January 21, 2019 at Union Court Assisted Living in St. Charles, Michigan. She slipped peacefully from the arms of her family into the arms of Our Heavenly Father.


Dorothy was born October 18, 1935 in Midland, Michigan to Wilfred and Dorothea ‘Beryl’ (Porter) Wagner.  She married her high school sweetheart Carl Honaman in Merrill, Michigan on November 7, 1953.  He survives her along with daughter Christine (Doug) Deming of Unionville, son Richard (Mandy) Honaman of Sandusky, son John Honaman of Coppell, Texas and son Joel (Sue) Honaman of Brant. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Angela, Dianna, Lauren and Emma Honaman, Sharleen Seltz, Casie Kirby, Ashley (Jamie) Deming and Andrew (Christina) Deming.  She was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild Maci Jo Deming.  Dorothy enjoyed cooking, homemaking, watching her children and grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family.  She was predeceased by her parents, her father and mother-in-law, Albert ‘Dutch’ and Bernice Honaman, an infant brother Richard and a grandson, John Paul Honaman.


A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 708 Sanderson St., St. Charles. Fr. John Cotter will preside. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at C.M. Humpula Funeral Home, 209 Entrepreneur Dr., St. Charles and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Merrill.


The family wishes to thank the management and staff at Union Court in St. Charles for the love and care Dorothy received during her time there. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Merrill Sports Boosters.
